Andrea S

Medication Skills: pills, syringes
Favourite part about being a cat sitter: Socializing with the kitties
Best cat name I’ve come across: Otis
Favourite memory: I was working with a scared stray one day. I had been gradually introducing hand feeding to him to socialize him; but this time, when he came to get his treat, he ignored the food and just nuzzled into my hand instead.
Best cat toy/enrichment tool: wand toys and Churu
About Me: I have a cat training certificate from Animal Behaviour College
Andrea T
Experience: Cofounder of Catcouver in 2018, VOKRA volunteer since 2016
Medication Skills: pills, syringes, subcutaneous injections, inhalers
Favourite part about being a cat sitter: When I build a strong relationship with very shy/scared cats after a few bookings. I find it very rewarding to gain their trust. I also have a soft spot for senior cats that need extra care and many meds.
Best cat name I’ve come across: Archie/Reggie (ginger and dark grey cat), Mr Mojo
Favourite memory: I’ve been looking after 2 cats for a few years. One of them is very timid and scared. My strategy was just to let her be and let her come to me when she would be ready. After 2 years, she finally walked toward me and bent down her head which meant ” you may start petting me now”. Ever since, she has been very friendly, purring and happy to be pet.
Best cat toy/enrichment tool: I think puzzle feeders is great for cats that are left alone for a little while. It keeps them busy and give them some rewards when they figure it out!
Favourite cat joke/pun: purralysis
Angela
Experience: With Catcouver since 2024. I’ve had cats as part of the family since childhood, I grew up with animals. I have been pet sitting for family members and neighbours for over 10 years.
Medication Skills: Pills, syringes, subcutaneous injections
Favourite part about being a cat sitter: Connecting with loving pet owners, and building a rapport with caring people. I love getting familiar with a diverse range of feline personalities. I enjoy providing care for cats, and giving socialization to them when they need it the most when they are missing their families.
Best cat name I’ve come across: Mr. Peacock, Shadow of Bathery, Harry Berry.
Favourite memory: Spending time in the sunshine with my childhood street cat Billy who was rescued. And seeing my first litter of kittens learning to walk for the first time.
Best cat toy/enrichment tool: Cat wands, but really cats will gravitate towards anything that tickles their fancy such as a ball of socks, mittens or hair bands. Or anything that makes a crunchy sound. Also, catnip and a treat are obvious favourites.
Favourite cat joke/pun: It is not a joke, but a saying that dogs feel like they need humans and therefore, look up to humans as they need a leader. But cats see humans as equals (or slightly beneath them lol)— so they stick around humans only if the relationship is mutual and they “get something out of it”.
About Me: I deeply support rescue organizations, whether it be for companion animals or wildlife across BC. I am dedicated to rehabilitation, to give animals with behavioural issues or with multiple barriers, understanding and a second chance. Currently working as a veterinary assistant/receptionist and going to school to become a wildlife vet tech. Things that are close to my heart is being there for the kitties that require extra support.

Favourite memory: I love cats so much. My favorite memory with a cat was honestly finding Cappuccino in my family’s local pool. He was a tiny kitten that was looking for food and lots of love, both never faded.
Best cat toy/enrichment tool: Poof balls and feather toys!
Favourite cat joke/pun: That’s purrrfect
About Me: Honestly, I am and always will be a cat lady and I’m proud of it. I loved all the cats that have come and gone in my life. They all own a piece of my heart. I will definitely love your cat and treat them with the best of care.
